Indian Navy SSC Executive: The Indian Navy invites applications from unmarried eligible men and women for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Information Technology (Executive Branch) under the Special Naval Orientation Course commencing from January 2025 at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Born between 02 January 2000 to 01 July 2005 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in English in Class 10 or 12 and must have 60% aggregate marks in any one of the following qualifications:

• MSc / BE / B Tech / M Tech in:
  • Computer Science / Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Software Systems
  • Cyber Security
  • System Administration & Networking
  • Computer Systems & Networking
  • Data Analytics
  • Artificial Intelligence
• MCA with BCA / BSc in:
  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology

NCC Certificate Holders – Special Note

Candidates holding NCC ‘C’ certificates with a minimum ‘B’ grade may be granted a 5% relaxation in the cut-off marks, provided:

• The certificate is of Naval/Army/Air Wing.
• Minimum two years of service in NCC Senior Division.
• The certificate is not dated before 01 January 2022.

Medical Standards

• Candidates recommended by SSB must meet the required medical standards.
• No relaxation in height/weight/medical norms will be allowed.

Selection Procedure

1. Shortlisting will be based on normalised marks in the qualifying degree.
   • BE/B Tech: Marks up to 5th semester.
   • Postgraduates: Marks from all semesters.
   • Final-year PG candidates: Marks up to the pre-final year.
2. Shortlisted candidates will receive SSB call letters via email or SMS.
3. Candidates must attend SSB Interview and Medical Examination.
4. Final merit will be based on SSB performance and medical fitness.

Tenure of Commission

• Initial tenure: 10 years
• Extendable: Up to 4 more years in two terms (2+2 years) based on performance and service needs.

Training Details

• Candidates will be inducted as Sub Lieutenants.
• Training begins with a six-week Naval Orientation Course at INA, Ezhimala.
• Further professional training will be conducted onboard Naval ships and establishments.
• Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Marriage during training is grounds for discharge.

Probation Period

• The probation period is two years from the date of commission.
• Officers may be discharged during this period if performance is unsatisfactory.

Additional Guidelines

• Foreign degree holders must ensure their institution is recognised by the Government of India or AIU.
• Use/possession of narcotics will lead to immediate disqualification or removal from service.
• All claims in the application will be verified during selection/training. False declarations will lead to cancellation.

2. Register and fill out the application form.
3. Upload scanned copies of:
   • Marksheets (up to 5th semester for BE/B Tech, all semesters for PG)
   • 10th/12th certificates (for date of birth verification)
   • Recent passport-size photo
   • NCC ‘C’ certificate (if applicable)
   • Aadhar card
4. Submit the application by 16 August 2024.
5. Take a printout of the application for the SSB interview.

• Incomplete or unreadable documents will lead to rejection.
